Food Handler Permits/Classes

If you are going to be handling food at any establishment in Jackson County, you are required to have a Food Handler Permit.

Food handler permits and classes are available through the Jackson County Environment Health Division.

Restaurant Inspections

The Jackson County Environment Health Division is responsible for inspecting all restaurants, grocery stores, schools, mobile food and temporary food establishments within the unincorporated area of Jackson County and the cities of Blue Springs, Buckner, Grain Valley, Grandview, Greenwood, Lee's Summit, Lone Jack, Oak Grove, Raytown and Sugar Creek.

Adults with chronic diseases are seen at the above location. Volunteer physicians staff the clinics which are held on Tuesdays from 6-9 PM. Patients are seen by appointment only. To qualify for the clinic you must be a Jackson county resident without health insurance. Sponsored by the Truman Heartland Foundation and a host of other local agencies.
