Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program
Provides nutritional food supplements to pregnant and nursing women and to infants/children up to 5 years of age who are at nutritional risk because of inadequate income. Call for hours and appointment.

Breastfeeding classes-2nd Monday of every month 6:30-8:30 PM in the Board Room at TMC-Lakewood. WIC clients are free and other community members $20 fee. For more information call Charlene at (816) 404-7000.

Adults with chronic diseases are seen at the Truman Forest Building, Suite 302 in Independence. Volunteer physicians staff the clinics which are held on Tuesdays from 6-9 PM. Patients are seen by appointment only. To qualify for the clinic you must be a Jackson county resident without health insurance. Sponsored by the Truman Heartland Foundation and a host of other local agencies.
